Free Inquiry Project 4
This week I started to see some real progress with my juggling. In the video I included, I was able to get 10 juggles in a row with the juggling balls, which felt like a big milestone compared to where I started. It is still far from smooth, but it finally feels like I am beginning to understand the rhythm of the pattern.
One thing that helped a lot this week was focusing on throwing to the imaginary corners. The idea is to imagine a box in front of you and throw each ball to the opposite top corner of that box. Thinking about it this way helped me stop throwing the balls straight up or too far forward. The throws felt more controlled, and it made the catches easier because the balls followed a more predictable path.
I also noticed that the space you practice in makes a difference. Practicing somewhere with higher ceilings might actually make juggling easier because you can throw the balls slightly higher and give yourself more reaction time before catching them. You can see I hit the ceiling on my last throw, I think I was a little excited haha.
Even though 10 juggles is not perfect yet, it feels like a solid step forward. It will be interesting to keep recording these attempts and see how much smoother things become over the next few weeks.
Do you think changing the practice environment, like ceiling height or space, can make learning a physical skill easier?
